Charcuterie and Events in Spingaren Amsterdam

Amsterdam has a new hospitality hotspot that is all about honest and traditional food. After selling charcuterie on a market stand for years, Spingaren now has its own restaurant and tasting room in Amsterdam. In this brand-new location the charcuterie has its very own stage. Visitors can enjoy tastings and dinners among other things. In addition, Restaurant & Proeflokaal (‘Tasting Room’) Spingaren is also available for corporate events such as group dinners and product presentations.

“In 2016 we started thinking about producing our own charcuterie,” says Jorien Eliëns, one of Spingaren’s owners. “We observed that as far as charcuterie is concerned, very little is produced traditionally. That’s why we decided to delve into it. With our hospitality background we started comparing, testing, and experimenting. We tested our products for months and at the start of 2017 we presented our very own product: Spingaren pastrami. It took off from there. We launched our own range of products such as meat, fish, and vegetable charcuterie. Everything is produced in our own kitchen. The next step was to find a location where we could present and sell our products. We found the perfect location here at the Herengracht in Amsterdam: Restaurant & Proeflokaal Singaren was born. This is where we combine our passion for producing charcuterie with our other passion: the hospitality industry.”

Charcuterie Spingaren

The interior of the new restaurant and tasting room has an industrial-Scandinavian look and feel. It makes the venue accessible and gives it a hip, light and pleasant vibe. The possibilities for events range from group dinners and lunches, meetings, drinks, product presentations to cooking workshops. On top of that, the venue is available to be used as your very own pop-up restaurant for a day.

In the restaurant and tasting rooms you can enjoy charcuterie dishes on a plank. Among many other products we have dry sausage, kimchi, pate, pickles and vegetarian sausage. The guests put together their own plank and pick their choice of wine, beer or cocktail to go with it. In addition to charcuterie there is fresh fish, butcher’s meat and a large amount of surprising vegetarian dishes.
