All events will be allowed with CoronaCheck app from 25 September

As of  25 September, all (multi-day) events will be allowed. We were already allowed to organise physical events, but with letting go off social distancing and using the CoronaCheck app, everything will become possible again. There is one thing you should keep in mind. The maximum capacity for standing events, like a staff party, will be set at 75% per event space. The CoronaCheck app will be deployed at venues and locations which need extra health safety security.

Example for eventmanagers

Imagine, you are organizing an indoor staff party for 300 persons. This will be an event without designated seats, which means the venue will be able to use up to 75% of their normal capacity. You will need to look for a venue which is suitable for 400 persons. So that all your guests will be able to attend. The venue will be responsible to check upon arrival if everyone has a valid corona entry pass in their CoronaCheck app.

Practical issues

The Rijksoverheid reports that all events are allowed to pursue without social distancing. At which a valid corona entry pass in the CoronaCheck app will be a requirement.

In general this means that:

  • The catering industry is allowed to be opened until 00.00 hours. From that point of time no food or drinks can be served or consumed until 06.00 hours.
  • When using the CoronaCheck app at (multi-day) events your test results will be valid for 24 hours. After that time you will beed to get a new test.

Outdoor events

You can use 100% capacity for all outdoor events, such as teambuilding. There will be no closing time for the venue. The CoronaCheck app and identification will be checked upon arrive by the venue.

Indoor events

For all indoor events with designated seats, such as product presentations, conferences or meetings, you will be allowed to use 100% of the normal capacity, so long as you will be using the CoronaCheck app.

Standing events can take place with a maximum of 75% of the normal capacity per event space. These events, mostly parties, have a ending time at 00.00 hours. As event manager you should seek a venue or location where you will be allowed to come with all your guests at the 75% rate.

International events

From the 22nd of September there will no longer be a self-quarantine regulation for vaccinated travellers from the USA, UK and high-risk areas. This will make it easier for international guests to visit an event within The Netherlands.

With the DCC (EU Digital Corona Certificate), travellers will be able to enter the Netherlands. The DCC contains the exact same types of evidence you can find in the CoronaCheck app. These are the proof of vaccination, corona entry pass or a proof of recovery.

CoronaCheck app

The coronavirus entry passes will apply to locations (and events) inside and outside, with or without designated seats, and will be checked in combination with an identification. With carrying the CoronaCheck app you will always be able to use your type of evidence. For anyone without a telephone it is possible to print the proof through the website of CoronaCheck. Testen voor Toegang will remain to be free for anyone.

You will get a coronavirus entry pass whenever:

  • You are fully vaccinated;
  • You have a proof of recovery;
  • You can show a negative test result which was taken no longer than 24 hours ago.

From 1st November

The Dutch OMT will present a new advice in the beginning of November, followed by a press conference during which the government will present the next steps in regards to the safety measures.
