Strandzuid Amsterdam Transforms into Wintery Event Venue Zuidpool

From Strandzuid (‘South Beach’) to Zuidpool (‘South Pole’): it’s an annually returning transformation that Strandzuid undergoes. One half of the year it’s a paradise for sunbathers, with a beautiful city beach right in front of the door and the necessary accompanying beach vibe; the other half of the year the event venue puts on its winter coat and transforms into a winter venue. But after the renovation earlier this year, this winter edition is different: it’s the first time we’ll be able to enjoy Zuidpool in its new form.

As a result of the transformation of city beach Strandzuid, the winter edition also has a completely new look and feel. The new Zuidpool consists of three separate spaces with capacities ranging from 50 to 500 persons. The largest roofed location for events, The Boat House, changes into the Mountain House this season. The Beach House becomes the Ski Hut and the Beach Bar transforms into the Winter House. Zuidpool can also be used in its entirety for events up to 2000 persons.

The summery boulevard and the tropical interior that residents of Amsterdam discovered for the first time this summer, transform into a cozy space with blankets, winter decoration and shiny Christmas lights. Because no event is the same, the venue can personalized down to the smallest details. From drinks to decoration.

In the spring of 2018, the ice of Zuidpool melts again and the event venue transforms back to Strandzuid. The city beach will then be open to the public again.
