5 Inspiring Meeting Venues Within a Stone’s Throw of Amsterdam

And ‘outside of the office’ doesn’t have to be far. In the vicinity of Amsterdam are several venues in an environment that is surprising in terms of atmosphere as well as accessibility. We visited five inspiring meeting venues within a stone’s throw of Amsterdam!
HUIS BARNAART – HAARLEM
Give your meeting a touch of prestige in the classy Huis Barnaart! This monumental mansion in Haarlem was reopened as a unique meeting and event venue after an extensive restoration. Unique because of its special interior in the colourful and exotic Empire-style of Napoleon Bonaparte. Through a marble-clad hall you can choose from four spectacular rooms: the impressive Erkerzaal (Bay Room), the light Etrurische Zaal (Etrurian Room), de Gouden Zaal (Golden Room) and the more informal Dagelijkse Eetkamer (Daily Dining Room). In the stylish décor of marble fireplaces and French Empire furniture, you’ll feel like a king!
HET GEMAAL VAN MUIDEN – MUIDEN
Are you looking for a more discrete meeting venue? Het Gemaal van Muiden (The Pump House of Muiden) is truly a hidden gem at just a 20-minute drive from Amsterdam. The Pump House, built in 1892, is situated just outside the centre of the historical little city Muiden and was transformed by its current owners into a special multifunctional meeting venue. Inside, you’ll find a cosy and comfortable meeting room, three subspaces and a pleasant and informal kitchen space. Outside, a great terrace and orchard and a fantastic view of the grazing cows… and in the distance, Muider Castle!
HUIS130 – WESTZAAN
In the serene and rural Westzaan we find the meeting venue HUIS130. Hidden behind a nice house in typical Zaandam style lies this meeting venue, situated in a nicely restored hay-barn right in the middle of a pasture and surrounded by cows and fruit trees. It’s comfortable inside under the 9-meter-high ceiling and next to the beautiful old fireplace. A long meeting table stands on the place where once the hay was stored, and where once the cows stood is now a luxurious open kitchen. During a meeting, the kitchen is the place where you can make your own home-brewed coffee and enjoy a lunch in an informal setting.
HUIZE KONINGSBOSCH – BAKKUM
On the edge of the North-Holland dune reserve lies the monumental Huize Koningsbosch. The venue is close to the city and yet completely surrounded by a green oasis. Huize Koningsbosch has four well-equipped meeting rooms of different sizes, 23 comfortable hotel rooms and the fantastic (Michelin listed) restaurant ‘Aan het Bosch’. Raise your appetite on a walk through the woods, or grab the rental bikes that are ready at the location and cycle to the beach within 15 minutes!
DUINPAVILJOEN DE UITKIJK – BLOEMENDAAL
On top of the dunes in Bloemendaal lies Duinpaviljoen De Uitkijk (Dune Pavilion the Lookout). This venue has one of the most beautiful and biggest terraces in the area, right next to the dunes. In addition to the Brasserie there are three great spaces which are very suitable for meetings. Duinpaviljoen De Uitkijk has been a household name for decades in the Kennemerland-area. In 2018, it was completely renovated. Now, the Duinzaal (Dune Room), the Grote Zaal (Big Room) and the Blue Room are transformed into stylish and contemporary spaces. The beautiful view of the dunes is a great bonus!
